TRANSPORTATION

The future of transportation is dependent on innovative technologies and materials enabled by chemistry. Today greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from transportation account for about 30 percent of total U.S. GHG emissions, and governments globally are calling for more fuel-efficient vehicles.

Already, technologies enabled by science are making vehicles lighter helping to improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. In addition, science is helping make today’s passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and public transportation more reliable, affordable, safer and durable.
